Bryn, Cate's Border Collie goes Back to School
28th January 2010
Inbetween paintings, I have gone "back to school" with Bryn, my spirited Border Collie.
I, showing great determination, took my collie to puppy classes as a little fluff ball but hated it with vengeance and went for evry Jack Russell who looked at him the wrong way....and unfortunately, there were a few in that class. He would cry and howl when I put him in the car. He KNEW where he was going and for a good day before, would wind himself up and for a day following, would not even look at me. Instead of becoming well behaved ,he became resentful and irritable and we stopped going.
I tried again when he was older.....but in the midst of a kennel cough epidemic, someone shared balls out as a training exercise....guess what....ALL my dogs got it!
Third time lucky!
Bryn now goes to class where we hav a WONDERFUL, patient trainer and her assistant and he is reasonably controllable. When we are together at home or on walks, is much more in tune with me.....watch this space!
